Se graduó en Filosofía por la Universidad de Australia Occidental antes de dedicarse de manera autodidacta a las artes visuales y la ilustración infantil. Ha ilustrado numerosos libros álbum publicados por editoriales internacionales como Tundra Books, Chronicle Books y Cambourakis, y ha escrito e ilustrado obras propias como Una cocina con estilo What's Cooking at 10 Garden Street? .
