Edad recomendada: Adultos. OSTLER NICHOLAS Nicholas Ostler nació el 20 de mayo de 1952 en Tunbridge Wells, Inglaterra. Es lingüista, académico y autor británico especializado en historia de las lenguas. Estudió en Balliol College, Oxford, donde obtuvo títulos en griego, latín, filosofía y economía. Posteriormente realizó un doctorado en lingüística y sánscrito en el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts bajo la dirección de Noam Chomsky. Ha trabajado como profesor en universidades de Japón y Turquía y como consultor en tecnología del lenguaje. Es presidente de la Fundación para las Lenguas en Peligro y autor de obras como Empires of the Word y The Last Lingua Franca.
