JAMES JOYCE James Joyce 1882 - 1941 was an Irish novelist and playwright, and is considered one of the most influential writers of the 20th century. His short story collection, 'Dubliners', and his novels 'A Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man', 'Ulysses' and 'Finnegans Wake' are unique. Edad recomendada: Adultos jóvenes JOYCE JAMES James Augustine Aloysius Joyce nació el 2 de febrero de 1882 en Dublín, Irlanda, hijo de John Stanislaus Joyce y Mary Jane Murray. Creció en una familia numerosa y estudió en colegios jesuitas, continuando su formación en el University College Dublin entre 1898 y 1902, donde se interesó por lenguas y literatura. En 1904 inició su relación con Nora Barnacle, con quien se trasladó a Zúrich, Trieste y París. Publicó obras como Dublineses en 1914, Retrato del artista adolescente en 1916, Ulises en 1922 y Finnegans Wake en 1939. Tuvo dos hijos, Giorgio y Lucia. Falleció el 13 de enero de 1941 en Zúrich a causa de una peritonitis y fue enterrado en el cementerio de Fluntern.
