DEARY TERRY Terry nació en Sunderland, Inglaterra, en 1946 y actualmente vive en County Durham, en el noreste de Inglaterra. Su padre, Billy, era carnicero en Hendon, Sunderland, y su madre, Freda, era encargada de una tienda de ropa. De niño, trabajó durante muchos años en la carnicería de su padre. Era mejor que ir a la escuela, donde fue golpeado, acosado y maltratado por sus detestables maestros. Terry comenzó su carrera como actor profesional en 1972, cuando se unió al Theatre Powys en el centro de Gales. Como actor en Theatre Powys, empezó a escribir guiones para algunas de las obras.
