Kristin Hannah es una escritora estadounidense nacida el 25 de septiembre de 1960 en Garden Grove, California. Estudió Comunicación en la Universidad de Washington y luego Derecho en la University of Puget Sound, ejerciendo como abogada en Seattle antes de dedicarse a la literatura. Comenzó a escribir junto a su madre durante su enfermedad terminal, aunque ese primer libro nunca fue publicado. Desde 1990 ha publicado más de una veintena de novelas, muchas de ellas bestsellers internacionales. Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran "The Nightingale", "The Great Alone", "The Four Winds" y "Firefly Lane", esta última adaptada como serie por Netflix. Sus libros abordan temas como el amor, la pérdida, la resiliencia y los vínculos familiares, y han sido traducidos a más de cuarenta idiomas.
