MAURO COLAGRECO
(La Plata, Argentina, October 5, 1976) is an Argentine chef, owner of the three-time Michelin star Mirazur restaurant in Menton, France.
As a newly graduated chef, Colagreco headed to France and worked with Bernard Loiseau until his death in 2003. He then worked in Paris with Alain Passard at l'Arpège, Alain Ducasse at the Hotel Plaza Athénée, and finally spent a year at Le Grand. Vefour.
Colagreco established Mirazur in Menton in 2006. Just six months after opening, it received the 'Revelation of the Year' award, a new category to recognize its merits, from Gault & Millau and, in less than a year, earned its first Michelin star. . It received its second Michelin star six years later.
Mirazur officially became one of the best restaurants in the world, listed in The S.Pellegrino's 50 Best World Restaurants. In the same year, Colagreco was also awarded "Chef of the Year" by the prestigious restaurant guide Gault & Millau, being the first non-French chef to receive this title.
His third Michelin star was awarded in January 2019.
In June 2019, Mirazur is chosen as the best restaurant in the world by the 50 Best Restaurants in the World.
Colagreco has imposed its own style in the interpretation of the product and the contrast of flavors. A style that is not rooted in his Italian-Argentine cultural heritage and is not related to the great chefs he worked with in France.
