Es artista visual y escritor cuya práctica se centra en el lenguaje como forma visual además de su función comunicativa. Inicialmente se dio a conocer por sus trabajos de tipografía y libros de artista, y con el tiempo amplió su obra hacia el dibujo, la poesía y la performance. Ha expuesto en instituciones como Tate Britain, la British Library, el J. Paul Getty Museum y la Library of Congress en Washington.
