WALKER ALICE Alice Malsenior Walker nació el 9 de febrero de 1944 en Eatonton, Georgia. Fue la menor de ocho hijos de una familia afroamericana de agricultores. A los ocho años perdió la visión de un ojo en un accidente, lo que la llevó a refugiarse en la lectura y la escritura. Estudió en Spelman College y se graduó en Sarah Lawrence College en 1965.
