"The Island of Doctor Moreau" remains to this day a pillar of early science fiction and a great example of how the actions and ideas of man define a literary genre that celebrates the best of us by showing us the worst we are capable of. Edad recomendada: Adultos. WELLS H.G. Herbert George Wells nació el 21 de septiembre de 1866 en Bromley, Kent, Reino Unido, y murió el 13 de agosto de 1946 en Londres. Hijo de Joseph Wells y Sarah Neal, un accidente infantil que lo dejó convaleciente despertó su pasión por la lectura. Estudió biología en la Normal School of Science bajo la influencia de Thomas Huxley. Tras trabajar como maestro y periodista, se dedicó a la escritura y publicó más de ochenta libros. Es considerado uno de los padres de la ciencia ficción con obras como La máquina del tiempo, El hombre invisible y La guerra de los mundos.
