Herbert George Wells nació el 21 de septiembre de 1866 en Bromley, Kent, Reino Unido, y murió el 13 de agosto de 1946 en Londres. Hijo de Joseph Wells y Sarah Neal, un accidente infantil que lo dejó convaleciente despertó su pasión por la lectura.
