Edad recomendada: Adultos. GURNAH ABDULRAZAK Abdulrazak Gurnah Zanzíbar, 1948 es un escritor de origen tanzano afincado en Inglaterra desde hace más de medio siglo. Doctorado en 1982 por la Universidad de Kent, ejerció la docencia en las universidades de Bayero Kano, Nigeria y Kent, donde impartió literatura inglesa y poscolonial hasta su jubilación en 2017. Es miembro de la Royal Society of Literature desde 2006 y autor de numerosos cuentos, ensayos y una decena de novelas, entre las que destacan Paraíso, nominada para los premios Booker y Whitbread, A orillas del mar, La vida, después y El desertor, todas ellas publicadas por Salamandra. Considerado uno de los escritores poscoloniales más relevantes, en 2021 fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura por su "conmovedora descripción de los efectos del colonialismo y la historia de los refugiados en el abismo entre culturas y continentes ".
